Fall 2026

Weather is a consideration for all practices and games.

Pre-K

The pre-kindergarten soccer program (for ages 4+) focuses on skills and drills. The 2026 season for grades pre-k through 2nd grade will begin on Saturday, September 12, and end on October 24. They will play at the Maple Street soccer fields.

Pre-K sessions will run Saturday mornings (time TBD).

Kindergarten

The kindergarten soccer program focuses on skills and drills. The 2026 season for grades pre-k through 2nd grade will begin on Saturday, September 12, and end on October 24. They will play at the Maple Street soccer fields.

1st & 2nd Grade

The first and second grade soccer programs continue to focus on skill and drills but includes 20 minutes of game time. The 2026 season for grades pre-k through 2nd grade will begin on September 5, and end on October 24. They will play at the Maple Street soccer fields.

1st and 2nd grade sessions will run Saturday mornings:

  • Girls’ practice: 10:30–11:30 am

  • Boys’ practice: 11:30 am–12:30 pm

If you believe your second grader would be a better fit to play at the third and fourth grade level in the Merrimack Valley Soccer League, please contact Sara (persechino.sara@gmail.com).

3rd & 4th Grade

The 3rd and 4th grade soccer program will compete in the Merrimack Valley Soccer League (MVSL).

5th—8th Grade

Teams for athletes in grade 5th through 8th also compete in the MVSL.

Fees

  • Pre-K – 2nd Grade: $60.00

  • 3rd & 4th Grade: $90.00

  • 5th – 8th Grade: $130.00

HYSA will supply shirts for all athletes.

Timing and Schedules

The 2026 season for grades pre-k through 2nd grade will begin on September 5, and end on October 24. They will play at the Maple Street soccer fields.

Schedule for Pre-K through 2nd Grade:

  • 9:00–9:40 am: Pre-K

  • 9:45–10:30 am: Kindergarten

  • 10:30–11:30 am: 1st and 2nd grade girls

  • 11:30 am–12:30 pm: 1st and 2nd grade boys

Schedule for 3rd–8th grade:

HYSA practices start for 3rd grade and up at the end of August. Once coaches are determined, schedules are set and players will be notified of their team placement and practice schedule. Games start on Tuesday, September 8, for MVSL. If your athlete(s) have scheduling conflicts, please indicate prior commitments when you register them for HYSA. This will help us to make appropriate team placements at the start of season.

The Merrimack Valley Soccer League follows a basic game schedule outlined as follows:

Basic Weekday Schedule:

  • Tuesdays, 5:30 pm: 5th & 6th grade boys

  • Wednesdays, 5:30 pm: 7th & 8th grade girls

  • Thursdays, 5:30 pm: 5th & 6th grade girls

  • Fridays, 5:30 pm: 3rd & 4th grade games

Please note: October weekday games will begin at 5:00 pm because of the earlier sunsets.

Basic Saturday Schedule:

  • 10:30 am: 7th & 8th grade girls

  • 12:00 pm: 5th & 6th grade boys

  • 1:30 pm: 5th & 6th grade girls

  • 3:00 pm: 3rd & 4th grade boys

  • 4:30 pm: 3rd & 4th grade girls
