If you are a resident of Hopkinton or Contoocook and have a child between the ages of 9 and 15 that's interested in playing baseball this spring, Hopkinton will once again be participating in the Concord Northeast Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth baseball leagues. Click here to learn more and to register.
T-ball (boys and girls ages 8 and under): $60 through HYSA
Rookies Baseball (boys ages 8 and under): $60 through HYSA
Cal Ripken AAA & Majors (boys ages 9–12): $125 through CNE
Babe Ruth (boys ages 13–16): $125 through CNE
HYSA is a non-profit organization. Participation fees are used to cover the cost of equipment, uniforms, insurance, league fees, and umpires.
Levels of Play:
Rookie Baseball (Coach Pitch): 60' field – generally for children ages 7–8 . This is a developmental level which focuses on throwing, catching, and hitting. Mechanical pitching machines and/or coach pitching will be used, both in practice and for games. Games are normally held on Saturdays, with one or two practices scheduled per week. Players will need a glove. Cleats are optional.
Cal Ripken AAA: 60' field – Generally for children ages 9–10. This level focuses on further development of skills. Players pitch to opposing teams. Games are normally held 2–3 times per week with practices held one or two times per week. This a competitive level of play with an end of the season playoff. Players will need a glove. Sliding shorts and athletic cups are recommended. Cleats are optional. Players skill level will be evaluated to achieve parity in team selection.
Majors: 70' field – generally, for children ages 11–12. Games will be held 2–3 times per week. Practices are normally twice per week. This is a more competitive level of play with an end of season playoff. Players will need a glove. Sliding shorts, athletic cup and cleats are recommended. Players skill level will be evaluated to achieve parity in team selection.
Babe Ruth: 90' field – generally for players ages 13–15. Games will be held once or twice per week. Practices are normally twice per week. This is a more competitive level of play with an end of season tournament. Players will need a glove. Sliding shorts, athletic cup and cleats are recommended. Player’s skill level will be evaluated to achieve parity in team selection if more than one team.

Starting up in March/April (weather permitting) for the older groups- AAA, Majors and Seniors. AA will start in April and T-ball will start on May 6th.
Softball AA (ages 9 and under): $60
Softball AAA (girls ages 11 and under): $80
Softball Majors (girls ages 12 and under): $100
Babe Ruth Softball (girls ages 13–16): $100

Softball AA: Generally for girls ages 7–8. This is a developmental level which focuses on throwing and catching. Coaches use pitching machines for practices and games. Games are usually held Saturday mornings along with Thursday nights and are 3 innings long. Practices are generally held once or twice a week. Girls will need a glove. Cleats are optional.
Softball AAA: Generally for girls ages 9–10. Focuses on the further development of skills. Girls pitch to opposing teams (Pitchers rubber -35 feet, ball is 11 inches). Games are normally held on Saturdays and Tuesdays, with two practices scheduled per week. Girls will need a glove. Cleats are optional.
Softball Majors: Generally for girls ages 11–12. (Pitchers rubber- 40 feet, ball is 12 inches). Games will be held on Saturdays and Mondays/Wednesdays. Practices will be held twice per week. Girls will need a glove. Cleats are recommended.
Softball Babe Ruth: Generally for girls ages 13–16. Games will be held one or two times per week usually on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Practices will be held twice per week if possible. Players will need a glove and cleats are recommended. Pitchers rubber is 43 feet and ball is 12 inches.
